Self-motivated Facilities Engineer with mechanical knowledge to assist with heavy equipment installation, foundation work, fire suppression systems, testing and compliance, and contractor management. This role reports to the Facilities team and supports maintenance and improvement of facility, manufacturing processes, and equipment, including design, construction, systems integration, maintenance, and other services needed to support operations. You will ensure established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, safety, cost reduction, hazardous materials, ergonomics, etc.,
are compliant for the projects you work on. You will directly contribute to safety, continuous improvement, delivery performance, equipment availability, operational efficiency, cost savings, and process capability.
- Coordinating, performing, or assisting in routine maintenance, construction work, or integration of manufacturing equipment, supporting equipment, and infrastructure.
- Manage Fire suppression systems, testing and compliance.
- Support contractor interactions assuring that on-site contractors meet project deadlines and that work is completed safely following facility/regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Monitor and maintain parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.
- Serve as first line of support for building service problems and work requests; troubleshoot to determine the cause of failure and identify improvements.
- Assist other facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments.
- Establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing detailed calculations.
- Analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based on understanding and communication with customers.
- Plant Facilities Management: knowledge of managing plant facilities and infrastructure.
- Construction Engineering and Technology: practical knowledge of applying engineering principles to construction; ability to apply techniques and equipment for design and production.
- Engineering - MFG: knowledge of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement systems and processes.
- Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: knowledge of manufacturing standards and compliance.
- Troubleshooting Technical Problems: ability to anticipate, detect, and resolve problems in manufacturing.
- Problem Solving: ability to recognize and resolve organizational or process problems.
- Effective Communications: ability to convey and interpret information clearly.
- Project Management: ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects.
- Accredited engineering or engineering technology degree or equivalent experience
- Fire suppression systems, testing and compliance
- Demonstrated abilities as an influential or indirect leader
- HVAC/Mechanical, power distribution, or electrical utilities/equipment project experiences
- Industrial facility and capital project experience; MS Projects and/or Primavera a plus
- Ability to use AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks or other engineering software tools
- Building management system experience (Simplex experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of permitting and regulatory requirements
- Travel up to 10%.
