OverviewEstimator I – responsible for reviewing drawings to provide equipment, material, and labor for HVAC and/or Plumbing Systems using estimating software tools in a clear, concise, and methodical way. Must read specifications to identify piping material types, specific job requirements, and deviations from the Company standard practices.
Responsibilities- Review construction documents and understand the scope of work for bidding.
- Execute take‑offs of construction documents.
- Read specifications to identify piping material types, joining methods, and deviations from company standard practices.
- Review material takeoff for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter take‑offs into database.
- Obtain pricing for specialty materials.
- Execute material/labor evaluations for specialty materials.
- Inform immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or database.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver an accurate product while meeting deadlines.
- 0–2 years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
- Ability to perform detailed labor and material take‑offs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary.
- Knowledge of Trimble Autobid software.
5–10% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical Activities- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Quiet environment.
- Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
USD $24.28 – $32.44 /Hr.
