Role DefinitionAs a Valve train Component Design Engineer, you will design complex components and systems, partner with global teams, and support diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines worldwide.
Responsibilities- Lead a global team in designing valve train components.
- Design and promote new components and subprocesses.
- Evaluate product design, reliability, durability, cost, and program requirements.
- Apply NPI processes, conduct FMEAs, formulate validation plans, and complete validation activities.
- Assess new products, processes, or systems, including supplier change requests.
- Complete projects on time and at cost for NTI, NPI, CPI, and NSI programs.
- Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and business units.
- Lead supplier collaboration and CPPD.
Degree required.
Skill Descriptors- Analytical Thinking – extensive knowledge of analysis techniques.
- Computer-Aided Design & Engineering – expertise in graphics programs.
- Product Design – ability to transform requirements into designs.
- Managing Multiple Priorities – effective self-management, prioritization.
- Technical Excellence – strong technical knowledge and solution development.
- Product Design and Development – from concept to production.
- Degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with APQP, FMEA, NPI, NTI, CPI.
- Expertise in valve train components.
- Location:
Lafayette, IN. - Travel: less than 10% domestic or international.

$97,530.00 – $ (salary may vary).
