The Large Power System Division currently has an open Engineering Project Team Leader position located in Lafayette, IN. The position is focused on the product maintenance / development / quality / performance of Air Valves. The successful candidate will manage NTI/NPI/CPI/Maintenance work within the Air Shutoff, Wastegate, Compressor Bypass, and Sequential Valve design control.

As the Engineering Lead on this team, you will be responsible for reacting and responding to the needs of the business while managing your own development, knowledge and skill. The lead engineer will focus on AoS, cost reduction, technology development, and standard work. Additionally, up to 50% of this assignment will be as an individual contributor, bringing technical expertise to projects within the team.

• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
• Coordinate resources across the businesses with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing.
• Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; address and resolve problems.
• Direct project staffing; motivate and develop project team and team members.

Degree required in an accredited Engineering, Technology, or Materials Science curriculum.

• Project Management
  : expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
• Troubleshooting Technical Problems
  : extensive knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product management environment.
• Product Design and Development
  : extensive knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
• Team Management
  : knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

• Expertise in:
• Design, maintenance, and assurance of supply
• Cost and delivery, specifically for air valves on large engines consumed globally
• Developing and coaching a team of engineers both on & offsite
• Delivering sound technical decisions to meet metrics under minimal guidance

• This position is located in Lafayette, IN.
• Less than 10% travel possible – domestic or international.
