Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Planner / Scheduler

Acts as the owner‑representative Project Planner / Scheduler for capital projects, responsible for the development, integrity, and predictability of the project schedule across all phases of execution. The Planner / Scheduler understands cost, estimating, and earned value concepts, but is wholly focused on schedule development, logic quality, progress measurement, forecasting, and critical‑path protection. This role ensures the project leadership team has a credible, integrated, and decision‑ready schedule that reflects real execution conditions.

Schedule

Development & Integration

Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (L1–L4 as appropriate) covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning. Establish and maintain robust schedule logic, constraints, milestones, and interface ties. Integrate long‑lead items, early works, and execution packages into the overall schedule. Incorporate contractor, EPC, and EPCM schedules into a single coherent master schedule.

Schedule Quality & Logic Control

Ensure schedules meet defined quality standards (logic density, float paths, constraints, realism). Identify artificial float, logic gaps, unrealistic durations, or misaligned interfaces. Maintain schedule baselines in accordance with governance and gate approvals. Own change traceability from approved scope changes into schedule updates.

Forecasting & Critical Path Management

Identify and maintain the true critical path(s) and near‑critical paths. Perform schedule forecasting using progress trends, logic impacts, and production assumptions. Run what‑if and recovery analyses to evaluate mitigation options. Provide clear, actionable insights on schedule risk and recovery potential.

Progress Measurement & Schedule Status

Define and apply consistent progress measurement rules aligned with schedule logic. Collect progress inputs from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and contractors. Validate progress credibility and resolve inconsistencies. Ensure schedule updates reflect actual execution, not optimistic reporting.

Interface & Coordination Role

Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering and discipline leads, Procurement and expediting, Construction management and site teams. Translate execution decisions into schedule logic and maintain alignment. Challenge and clarify inputs when schedule integrity is at risk.

Reporting & Decision Support

Prepare and present schedule dashboards, milestone forecasts, and critical‑path narratives. Support gate reviews, management reviews, and recovery decision‑making. Provide schedule‑driven inputs to EV reporting, KPIs, and cost forecasting (without owning cost). Maintain audit‑ready schedule documentation and backups.

Key Interfaces
  • Project Manager and Project Leadership Team
  • Engineering Manager and discipline leads
  • Procurement and Expediting
  • Construction Management and Site Operations
  • Project Controls (Cost / EV)
  • External EPC, EPCM, and major contractors
Qualifications & Experience

15+ years of experience in capital project planning and scheduling. Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 (mandatory). Strong understanding of construction sequencing, engineering deliverables and maturity, long‑lead procurement logic, and practical experience supporting schedule recovery and mitigation. Excellent analytical, facilitation, and communication skills. Comfortable challenging inputs while maintaining collaborative relationships.
