What you will do in this role:

  • Apply appropriate theories and standards for decision-making and actions regarding therapeutic practices.
  • Assess patient needs considering cultural, religious, and physical disabilities to determine capabilities in groups and with specific activities.
  • Document patient responses to interventions relevant to treatment on daily or weekly progress reports.
  • Complete all assessments within designated time frames, contributing to balanced assessment workloads among therapists.
  • Develop initial and ongoing treatment programs in accordance with physicians’ or licensed practitioners’ orders.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Recreational Therapy (CTRS), Music Therapy (MT-BC), Art Therapy (ATR, ATR-BC, ATR-P, LPAT), or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, is preferred.
  • Current unencumbered certification/license/registration as per state practice guidelines.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days; flexible hours, holidays, and overtime may be required.
