Human Resources Generalist Lafayette, IN | Second Shift: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our Lafayette operation. This role partners closely with leaders and employees, providing hands‑on HR support in a fast‑paced operational environment. The HR Generalist will serve as a key resource for employee relations, workplace investigations, attendance, onboarding, engagement, benefits, staffing, and other workforce needs.

• Partner with supervisors, managers, and employees across second‑shift operations.
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and corrective action.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, employment practices, attendance, leave, and workers' compensation.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and workforce effectiveness initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding, recruiting, staffing, and benefits administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and utilize HR systems and reporting tools.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.

3-5 years of HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and organizational skills. Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with HR technology and business systems.

• Experience with Workday, Kronos, or other HRIS platforms.
• HR experience within operations, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or automotive environments.
• Knowledge of leave administration, workers' compensation, and attendance management.
• Experience supporting frontline leaders and hourly employees.
