Description

Incumbent serves as Software Specialist for Tippecanoe County Department of Information Technology, responsible for performing administrative tasks related to Sharepoint Online and related components, administering county document solutions, and maintaining county website.

DUTIES:

* Serves as first level support to calls/tickets received in DoIT from users related to Sharepoint Online and Document Imaging Software. Maintains and implements software, document management systems, and computer applications, including analyzing organizational software needs, applying computer science techniques and logic to identify solutions or programs to meet requirements. Periodically installs and configures software as needed, configuring network and database security as appropriate.

Maintains involvement in testing custom program updates and system updates.

* Maintains user security for applications, including creating customized digital storage locations for access by application users, troubleshooting work process, user, and hardware problems. Reviews and implements necessary upgrades, including providing related computer system training to new and current staff relating to Sharepoint and document management solutions.

* Interacts and engages frequently with department heads and office managers to discuss specific business needs and requirements related to Sharepoint and document management solutions. Gauges complexities of business processes and issues, including employing reasoning skills to initiate customized solutions. Advises on use of proprietary software packages to address certain organizational needs.

* Maintains frequent communication with judges, court staff, and document imaging users, including coordinating services and improving work flow. Interacts with public occasionally to assist with locating requested data and payment of online fees. Maintains strict adherence to required confidentiality of position.

* Conducts training with software users, and occasionally develops training materials.

* Serves as second level support for other software, receiving advanced/escalated call tickets as necessary.

* Attends professional development workshops, and training and education as required. Maintains current knowledge related to Document Imaging software and Sharepoint, including training updates as needed. Maintains current knowledge related to personal computer operating systems and software.

* Periodically serves as backup on hardware issues.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

I.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Associate degree in computer related field and two (2) years previous related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in misdemeanor and felony court operations and clerk operations, such as court procedures, terminology and laws preferred.

* Working knowledge of personal computer systems, microprocessor computers, and network systems, and ability to perform routine computer and computer component maintenance, install hardware and software, identify and resolve hardware and software problems, and provide training and assistance to users. Ability to utilize or learn to utilize applicable County hardware and software.

* Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, other County personnel, off-site users, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.

* Ability to provide access to or maintain confidentiality of Department information and records according to state requirements.
