Logistics Manager

Manage inbound and outbound logistics management to ensure the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of materials to activity points along the material flow path. Ensure adherence to corporate policies and practices by working effectively with appropriate functional areas to maintain a high-velocity material flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform activities to ensure material is shipped, received, stored, or delivered quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide logistics management, analysis, and support of inbound and outbound material flow.
  • Lead aggressive continuous improvement efforts to eliminate excess inventory and manage material to PFEP-defined flow paths.
  • Develop, maintain, and support transportation requirements, including determining appropriate mode and carrier.
  • Monitor carrier performance, determine root cause, and take corrective action.
  • Decrease transportation costs and reduce premium freight expense.
  • Improve carrier quality and container scheduling and availability.
  • Manage and support business unit or facility logistics activities.
  • Provide overall management of the facility freight expenses, including filing carrier loss and damaged freight claims.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or other closely related disciplines.
  • 5-7 years of experience required.
  • Project management experience.
  • MAMM MRP experience.
  • Understanding and previous experience using common supply chain systems (e.g., MAMM MRP, Lognet, MRC, EDI, MESL, FRACS, and Pull Manager).
  • 6-Sigma training and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics.
  • Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP) and ability to design, implement, and evaluate SOPs.
  • Working knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers.

Skills:

  • Project management skills with the ability to provide clear escalation and decision framing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all management levels.
  • Working knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for improvement.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions.
  • Ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate and coordinate work across divisions.
  • Working knowledge of functions, principles, and techniques used in supply chain management.
  • Masters degree related to supply chain is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in an uncertain, high-pressure environment and work independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools such as Excel & PowerPoint.

Pay Transparency:
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $43.00 - $44.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
