Job Summary:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in the efficient procurement and logistics operations of our company. Your responsibilities will include accurately entering product orders using manufacturers’ online ordering software, as well as processing orders from internal team members, ensuring all details are precise, reviewing order acknowledgments for accuracy and creating and sending Purchase Orders in a timely manner.
Collaborating closely with Project Managers, you will coordinate production schedules and planning to meet project deadlines effectively. Additionally, your role will involve following up on outstanding orders and contributing to the implementation of new internal software systems aimed at enhancing procurement efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Accurately enters product orders into manufacturers’ online ordering software, ensuring all details are correctly inputted.
- Verifies the accuracy of order acknowledgements received from suppliers and tracks shipments, checking for discrepancies in quantities, pricing, and delivery dates, and confirming the exact specifications.
- Creates Purchase Orders based on approved requisitions and purchase requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement guidelines.
- Collaborates closely with Project Managers to align procurement activities with production schedules and project timelines while considering cost-effectiveness.
- Follows up on outstanding orders with suppliers and internal stakeholders to expedite delivery and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Maintains accurate records of orders, purchases, and shipments in the company’s procurement and inventory management system, Business Central.
- Supports accounting and shipping & receiving, handling warranties and returns.
- Coordinates with internal teams to ensure proper storage and inventory levels, preventing shortages or overstock.
- Communicates and works with direct supervisor and direct team members.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior purchasing experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- No travel requirements.
