CNC Machine Repair Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Amentum is seeking a Machine Equipment Technician Supervisor in Lafayette, IN.

Schedule
  • Typical work schedule:
    Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (hours may vary based on business demand). Weekend and call‑in support as needed.

  • HVAC Units, Hydraulic and Electrical Systems

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a multi‑skilled team of technicians supporting technical operations at the client’s facility.
  • Maintain, develop, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support, direction, safety training, audits and quality control for Amentum facility employees.
  • Perform as the technical expert in installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting electrical/electronic, mechanical and controls needs of automated equipment.
  • Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot Machine Tools, Automated and CNC Machines with PLC and distributed I/O control systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Emerson, etc.
  • Work with robotics and robotic control systems such as Fanuc, ABB, Mazatrol, Kuka, Yaskawa, etc.
  • Mentor and train less skilled technicians.
  • Lead small to large repair, overhauls, and construction projects with minimal supervision.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct operational or safety‑related issues and perform root‑cause evaluations.
  • Identify and document cost savings.
  • Prioritize work based on client needs and ensure on‑time completion.
  • Provide and schedule needed training and cross‑training for multi‑functional employees.
  • Implement all safety rules and guidelines for all employees.
  • Schedule, plan, document, maintain performance and report with Amentum management and client.
  • Monitor and manage entry of correct documentation and scheduled maintenance via CMMS (Maximo).
  • Manage reactive/ corrective maintenance and distribute to available technicians.
  • Audit work performance for safety actions and quality of work, and provide coaching as needed.
  • Maintain effective performance of individual employees and the worksite team.
  • Review time and downtime reporting to ensure 99.9% accuracy.
  • Compile, maintain, and present various reports to Amentum management and client teams.
  • Participate and document cost savings and root‑cause analysis.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ten years of experience in a technical role related to industrial production maintenance and/or industrial facilities maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of supervisory experience in industrial production maintenance and/or industrial facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to work from aerial lifts and scissors lift from height up to 30 ft.
  • Valid driver’s license if required.
  • Ability to obtain security access badge at client’s location.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade school credentials.
  • Five years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
  • Experience in a supervisory or subcontract management capacity within a technical industrial environment.
  • Experience in leadership positions demonstrating ability to analyze facilities maintenance problems and formulate solutions.
  • Experience creating Power Point presentations and delivering presentations.
  • Experience developing and training a multi‑skilled technical workforce.
  • Experience creating metrics and data mining for driving performance results.
  • Experience utilizing continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, 5S, 4M.

  • Qualified applicants must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.

  • Position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
  • Must maintain STS Certification within one year of employment.
