Tecton Construction Management, Inc., a Lafayette, Indiana based construction management firm, is actively pursuing a qualified Project Manager. Position offers full-time employment with bonus, employer match 401k, health benefits, energetic atmosphere, and time flexibility. Applicants must be capable of performing Project Manager duties as well as Field Supervision duties simultaneously. Successful candidates have made the transition from strong Superintendent to Project Manager role.
Qualifications- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in comparable construction related positions is required.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Efficient problem-solving skills
- Strong field supervision, field coordination, and leadership skills
- Must be able to multi-task, manage multiple projects/duties and have a positive attitude
- Oversee the delivery of every project on time, within budget and within the scope
- Manage the preconstruction phase and provide real-time budgeting feedback to Owners & Design Team
- Create work scopes, manage bid documents and bid projects of all sizes
- Oversee the permitting process and ensure delivery of all zoning, state and local approvals
- Scope out bids and award contracts
- Create, update and manage the project schedule
- Coordinate and manage contractors throughout the project
- Write and issue field work directives
- Write change orders
- Field verify the work is installed per plans and specifications
- Manage the project budget
- Review and approve all job-related expenses
- Lead effective Prebid, preconstruction and construction progress meetings
- Resolve conflicts between contract drawings and owner expectations
- Successfully complete and close out projects to owner satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with owners and office support staff
- Value and maintain strong owner bond to continue repeat and referred business
