Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist to join our team in a dynamic industrial environment.
This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and hands-on experience in chemical analysis, quality control, and process improvement. The team is responsible for all technical service work onsite at the client. While the position is largely lab-based, it also includes some responsibilities beyond the lab, such as maintenance of the product, cleaning out expired lubricants, and mechanical work on pumps.
Responsibilities
* Conduct quality control testing on production materials using techniques such as ICP, FTIR, pH, conductivity, and titrations.
* Maintain and monitor chemical solutions used in industrial processes.
* Perform microbiological and water treatment testing.
* Troubleshoot issues on the production floor and support operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with team members to identify and implement cost-saving and safety-enhancing initiatives.
* Maintain lab tools, equipment, and work spaces to ensure readiness and compliance.
* Manage inventory, track usage, and coordinate supply orders.
* Cross-train across lab functions to provide coverage during absences.
* Assist in developing testing protocols and reporting results.
* Step into supervisory duties when needed.
Essential Skills
* Strong understanding of basic chemistry principles and lab techniques.
* 1+ years experience in a manufacturing lab or QA/QC setting.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, including the ability to use formulas and create documentation.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Comfortable lifting up to 70 pounds.

Skills & Qualifications
* Associates or Bachelor's degree required, preferably in applied sciences, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
* Unrelated 2 or 4-year degrees will be considered with relevant GMP/Lab/Quality experience.
* Ability to work a 3-day schedule long term.
Work Environment
The position is based onsite at a fluid management facility in an industrial blue-collar plant setting. The lab is smaller in size but well-equipped with analytical equipment such as FTIR and ICP. The environment is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable workspace.
Available shifts:
* M-W 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
* Th-Sat 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
Training will be conducted over 2-4 weeks on a first shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The employee will work a total of 36 hours but will be compensated for a full 40-hour work week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
