Role Summary
The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN has an opening for a Stores Controller Floater. The primary focus is ensuring material availability for assembly consumption. Responsibilities include ordering parts for assembly lines, moving material to the line via stand‑up fork truck, labeling parts, maintaining inventory accuracy, and inputting orders and interplant material movement into computer systems. The position also requires proactive communication of potential material shortages to procurement and assembly operations to prevent production impact.
- Order parts for assembly operations
- Move material to the assembly line using a stand‑up fork truck
- Maintain inventory accuracy for production parts
- Use computer systems to input parts orders and move interplant material
- Minimum 2 years of stand‑up fork truck experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Self‑motivated and safety‑conscious; capable of working independently
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work overtime as production demands arise
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused approach
- Lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
- Bend, twist at the waist, and squat
- Stand on concrete for 8+ hours
- Consistently use required PPE for tasks performed
- Position is on the 3rd Shift (10:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m.)
- Relocation assistance is not offered; relocation costs are the responsibility of the selected applicant
- Pay range: $24.46 – $31.78 per hour
- Additional compensation: 13 days / 104 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays, potential overtime, quarterly incentive program, and possible annual bonus
