Overview:
Large engine software planning and development divided into three sub teams. The first two sub teams are responsible for gas and diesel engine software validation and the third sub team is responsible for field data acquisition systems. We are looking for a member of the third sub team that takes care of its acquisition systems. This sub team is responsible for less proprietary data capture systems and this system has both hardware and software components that require setup and support as they are deployed to the field.
Three main functions for this role:
- Assembling the kits for data capture, troubleshooting the kits, and cleaning them up when they get returned from the field.
- Logging in the right information from the kits either for storage or redeployment back to the field.
- Building software files that need to be installed on the data logger, testing those software files before the logger is deployed to the field.
Additionally, maintaining the lab inventory of all new and return kits is a sub process that is well documented.
Top skills:
- Hands-on electrical, electronics, and tools experience (wiring, soldering, multimeters usage, and drills).
- Ability to translate electrical schematics to wiring harness and complete kit builds.
- Knowledge of CAN J1939/CAN CCP/Serial bus communication.
- Basic engine knowledge is a plus.
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of experience.
