Production Manager | Position is near Lafayette IN area Manufacturing Operations

A global manufacturer is hiring an Operations Manager to lead production within one of its large U.S. manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and driving operational performance in a high-volume environment.

In This Role You Will
  • Direct daily manufacturing operations across multiple production areas.
  • Coach and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and hourly production employees.
  • Analyze production performance using key operational metrics and implement improvements that increase throughput while reducing waste and downtime.
  • Champion workplace safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects utilizing 5S principles and structured root cause problem solving.
  • Work cross‑functionally to ensure production goals and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, or an experienced Production Supervisor ready to advance.
  • Proven ability to lead supervisors, team leaders, and production personnel in a fast‑paced manufacturing operation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs including safety, quality, production efficiency, throughput, and continuous improvement.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred, although other high‑volume manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel for reporting, production tracking, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
  • A college degree is not required. Demonstrated manufacturing leadership and a strong track record of operational success are the primary qualifications.
  • Must be able to commute to the greater Lafayette, Indiana area.
