The NDT Inspector is based primarily at our Lafayette, IN facility, where the core of the role is MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) of production parts, including demagnetizing and inspecting parts on an MPI booth. The Inspector may also examine piping, storage tanks, and pressure vessels to identify defects and equipment issues before they cause failures. This role combines hands‑on technical inspection work with training responsibilities, helping ensure consistent quality and safety standards.
Occasional travel is required.
Shift: Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am (Some Saturdays required)
Key Accountabilities
- Demagnetize parts and inspect parts on an MPI booth as the primary daily workload
- Inspect, analyze, and identify equipment defects using certified NDT methods
- Monitor equipment condition to prevent failures and reduce unplanned downtime
- Recommend proactive maintenance and repairs to reduce operational risk and disruption
- Ensure standardization, consistency, and reliability of inspections across customer businesses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality industry standards
- Train and supervise the technical work of other inspectors
- Lead all safety training and model tkSCS safety procedures
- Work directly on or around motor vehicle equipment as part of routine duties

Travel Requirements
This role is based primarily at our Lafayette, IN facility. Travel is occasional, requiring approximately 10% of the time.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a testing environment
- ASNT Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) required
- Strong working knowledge of NDT equipment
- Current certifications: API 653 and API 510
- Completed TAPPI and OSHA 30 safety training
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Demonstrated safety-first mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- ASNT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Proven leadership experience
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent work on or near industrial equipment, piping, and pressure vessels, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions
