Job Description:

Safety Engineer - 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Safety engineer. The client is seeking a Safety Engineer to support and maintain safety programs within a Heavy Machine Shop environment. The role focuses on creating and maintaining a safe workplace for employees working around forklifts, overhead cranes, robotic systems, CNC machines, and other manufacturing equipment.

The engineer will ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and internal company safety policies.

Responsibilities include:

Implementing and monitoring workplace safety policies and procedures.

Monitoring forklift operations and managing shop-floor traffic safety.

Conducting risk assessments for forklift and pedestrian interaction zones.

Ensuring safe operation of overhead cranes used in lifting large components.

Reviewing lifting plans, rigging methods, load capacities, and lifting accessories.

Supporting incident and near-miss investigations.

Preparing and tracking corrective and preventive action plans.

Performing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments for critical operations.

Conducting routine safety inspections and audits across the machine shop.

Working closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve safety performance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering or related field
