Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
The position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Candidates must have at least two years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM. In-state licenses and certifications must be held prior to submission. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Floating within the hospital to maternal-child health departments is required. The labor and delivery unit follows staffing guidelines that typically allows for one nurse per active labor patient, and one nurse per two patients who are not in active labor.
In especially busy periods, nurses may need to care for additional patients as required. Registered Nurses should be proficient in the use of various equipment, including Alaris IV pumps and Draeger Clientnt warmers. Skills needed include administering medications, performing assessments, and providing patient education throughout the labor and delivery process. Nurses will also assist with monitoring both maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
Collaborative interdisciplinary support is provided as needed for comprehensive patient care. Candidates will participate in teaching and support for new parents. This role involves a variety of patient diagnoses including high-risk antepartum, perinatal complications, and postpartum care. The facility operates with a focus on safety and quality maternal care. Engagement in continuous improvement initiatives is expected. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
