American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a Cardiac/Medical Progressive Care Unit requiring 18 months of experience and ACLS/BLS certification.
Details- Charge RN role in a Cardiac and Medical PCU functioning as a true ICU stepdown unit
- Manages heart cath patients, cardiac and vasoactive drips (Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio), BiPAP, and PCU crisis criteria
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:00-06:30)
- Weekend work required
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charts using Cerner
- 194-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
- ICU experience highly preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Skills required:
telemetry monitoring, IV starts, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy - Experience with vents and conscious sedation preferred
- Prior travel experience not required
- Two supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Nursing degree must be from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Serve as Charge RN with training available for qualified candidates
- Level I, II, III, or IV trauma center experience required
- Additional skills related to post-Watchman and post-ablation care preferred
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
- Any prior Perm or PRN employee of IU Health must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Scrub requirement: red top with black bottoms
