Labor And Delivery Rn
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with an active IN or compact license and 2 years of L&D experience for a 4x12 day shift assignment. Job details include working in the Labor and Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital, a day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and a patient population that includes labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antenatal patients, and triage patients.
The facility performs 100-200 births per month and follows AWHONN staffing guidelines with typical ratios of 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active labor, and 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients. The unit uses CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips wired and wireless monitoring, Periwatch, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger radiant warmers, vein light, and v-scan, and Cerner charting system is used, experience required.
Requirements include an active RN license (IN or Compact) required and must be in hand prior to start, current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM, minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, Cerner charting experience required, community hospital experience preferred, charge experience preferred, skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance, experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response, knowledge of medication administration including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives, experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care, RN's university must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation, 2 supervisor references required, SSN and DOB required for consideration.
