Bright Star Care of Lafayette is hiring compassionate and dependable Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for full-time private duty nursing opportunities.

As a private duty nurse, you will provide personalized, one-on-one skilled nursing care in a patient’s home. Instead of managing several patients at once, you can focus on one patient throughout your shift, build a meaningful relationship with the patient and family, and deliver care tailored to their individual needs.

• Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor vital signs and complete appropriate nursing assessments
• Observe, recognize, and respond to changes in the patient’s condition
• Provide wound care and other skilled nursing interventions based on patient needs
• Implement the plan of care within your nursing scope of practice
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and unexpected changes in condition
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Communicate with the clinical team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate and support patients, families, and primary caregivers
• Follow infection-control procedures, safety standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements
• Protect patient dignity, privacy, and HIPAA rights

• Active and unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license
• At least one year of professional nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR or Basic Life Support certification
• Strong nursing assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to work independently in a home-based care environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Dependable, professional, and patient-focused
• Comfortable using electronic health record technology
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass required background, drug, and health screenings
• Ability to lift, reposition, and assist patients according to the physical requirements of the assignment
