Travel: Up to 25% (approximately one week per month)
Position SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Safety Specialist to lead and enhance our safety programs across warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong, safety-first culture.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in safety management within a warehouse or industrial environment and will partner closely with operations leadership, drivers, and site teams to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and promote best practices.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal and state safety regulations
- Lead OSHA-related activities including recordkeeping, reporting, inspections, and hazard mitigation
- Maintain current knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices
- Administer safety policies, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging safety training programs for associates and leadership
- Conduct new hire safety orientations and onboarding sessions
- Oversee equipment certification programs to ensure OSHA compliance
- Lead incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
- Partner with operations teams to reduce incident frequency and associated costs
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and safety assessments across multiple locations
- Monitor safety metrics and provide regular reporting to leadership
- Identify trends and recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and overall safety culture
- Serve as a trusted safety advisor to warehouse leadership and employees
- Partner cross-functionally to strengthen safety engagement and accountability
- Promote a proactive, behavior-based safety culture through coaching and communication
- 3+ years of safety management experience in logistics, warehousing, or industrial environments
- OSHA 30 certification (required)
- Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Proficiency with incident reporting systems and safety documentation
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration and/or certification
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Experience training adult learners in hands-on environments
- Familiarity with transportation equipment and warehouse operations
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in both office and warehouse environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
