Supplier Quality Engineer
Lafayette, IN | Onsite | Full-Time (3rd Shift 11pm-7am)
DSN is seeking a full‑time Supplier Quality Engineer for our Lafayette, IN location. The role focuses on managing and dispositioning Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and Deviations, facilitating cross‑functional collaboration to resolve quality issues and reduce production downtime.
Position OverviewThe Supplier Quality Engineer is a critical role responsible for managing and dispositioning Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and Deviations, and coordinating containment activities to minimize the impact of quality issues on production. The position also balances team workload to maintain a sustainable pace across the supplier quality group.
Key Responsibilities- Review rejects identified through incoming quality inspection and on the production floor.
- Investigate critical quality issues, develop clear problem statements, and communicate findings to the cross‑functional team.
- Manage and coordinate containment activities (sorting/rework) to minimize the impact of quality issues on production operations.
- Support problem‑solving and continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate the disposition of Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and Deviations.
This role reports to the Quality Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities. It works closely with supplier, production, engineering, supplier development, logistics teams, and third‑party service companies in both office and production floor settings.
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing; relevant internship experience accepted.
- Comparable backgrounds:
Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Quality Technician.
- Attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication

- Blueprint reading
- Gages and measurements
- MS Office Software (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science
