Supplier Quality Engineer

Lafayette, IN | Onsite | Full-Time

Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a critical, time-sensitive role responsible for managing and dispositioning Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and Deviations, serving as the catalyst that brings cross-functional teams together to resolve quality issues and mitigate the risk of production downtime. This position also helps balance team workload, contributing to a healthier, more sustainable pace across the supplier quality group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review rejects identified through incoming quality inspection and on the production floor.
  • Investigate critical quality issues, develop clear problem statements, and communicate findings to the cross-functional team.
  • Manage and coordinate containment activities (sorting/rework) to minimize the impact of quality issues on production operations.
  • Support problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
  • Coordinate the disposition of Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and Deviations.
Collaboration & Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Quality Manager and carries no supervisory responsibilities. The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with supplier, production, engineering, supplier development, and logistics teams, as well as third-party service companies, and operates in both an office and production floor environment.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the manufacturing industry; relevant internship experience is accepted.
  • Comparable backgrounds considered:
    Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Quality Technician.
