Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QC Lab Supervisor to lead daily quality control laboratory operations and support our commitment to product quality, food safety, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for supervising Lab Operators, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, improving driving processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain an audit-ready facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for quality excellence, and experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the site's Operational Excellence initiatives through KPI reporting, data analysis, continuous improvement activities, and corrective action management.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise Lab Operators to ensure efficient laboratory operations and timely completion of all required testing.
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance to laboratory personnel while troubleshooting laboratory-related issues.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality standards, testing procedures, and laboratory practices.
  • Support raw material and finished product testing programs to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee finished product testing, grading, product release activities, and management of nonconforming materials.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and maintain adequate supplies to support operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance and calibration activities for laboratory and plant instrumentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures at all times.
  • Investigate quality trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with production and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related process issues.
  • Provide analytical support and project assistance to cross-functional teams.
  • Support quality system initiatives and help maintain an audit-ready facility.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Serve as a backup for Quality and Food Safety leadership roles as needed.
  • Demonstrate company values through daily actions and leadership.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Salary & Compensation

Starting pay for this position is $71,400.00 - $95,200.00 - $ USD Annual

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency. When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, laboratory operations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food, beverage, ingredient, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification.
