Position: Senior CMM Programmer (PC-DMIS Level 3)

Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and supplier quality for a global leader in heavy equipment manufacturing.

This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy precision measurement, metrology, and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). You'll play a critical role in ensuring product quality by developing, optimizing, and maintaining inspection programs for machined components while partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams.

What You'll Do

As the team's CMM programming specialist, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality inspection programs that support manufacturing operations and supplier quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop, debug, validate, and maintain PC-DMIS Level 3 CMM inspection programs
  • Create inspection routines using 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Program and optimize CMM inspection sequences for complex machined components
  • Interpret GD&T requirements and translate engineering specifications into accurate inspection programs
  • Analyze inspection results and provide technical support for manufacturing and supplier quality teams
  • Troubleshoot dimensional and quality issues while recommending corrective actions
  • Support APQP, PPAP, first article inspections, and production validation activities
  • Maintain inspection documentation and metrology records
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and quality teams to improve product quality and inspection efficiency
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with equivalent hands-on experience
  • PC-DMIS Level 3 programming experience
  • Formal Hexagon PC-DMIS training (REQUIRED)
  • Strong experience programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience inspecting precision machined components
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • PPAP
  • Manufacturing Quality
  • Metrology
  • First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Poly Works
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Advanced dimensional analysis
