Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a wide range of analytical testing services. Eurofins Agroscience Services (EAS) is seeking a Field Research Agronomist in Lafayette, IN. This role combines laboratory work and field research, focusing on ecotoxicology and environmental safety within Agro Sciences.

Job Description

Field Scientist I responsibilities include:

  • Participate and monitor studies placed within the organization.
  • Maintain study data and facility records in an organized manner.
  • Properly handle and apply pesticides.
  • Grow and maintain various types of crops.
  • Assure accurate and complete collection of study data and report timely to sponsors.
  • Use sponsor e‑notebooks and other data collection hardware/software.
  • Participate in periodic GLP training.
  • Use study management database, as required.
  • Supervise temporary field/lab staff, as assigned.
  • Travel domestically as required.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience working with row crops.
  • Experience in pollination studies.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Basic

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in an appropriate field (e.g., biology, environmental science, analytical chemistry, chemistry, or biochemistry).
  • Knowledge of growing cycles of corn, soybeans, and wheat.
  • Familiarity with farming operations.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, and walk for hours in the field.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work extended hours during time‑critical periods.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information

Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lafayette, IN, are encouraged to apply.
