The OpportunityASF is seeking a Branch Account Manager to join our Lafayette, Indiana team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, combining account management, inside sales, purchasing, and operational coordination to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
The Branch Account Manager manages the customer relationship from initial quote through final delivery, ensuring orders are processed accurately, inventory is aligned with customer demand, and service expectations are consistently exceeded. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customer Service, you play a key role in supporting customer growth while driving operational excellence.

What You'll Do- Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, providing exceptional service and timely communication.
- Process RFQs, prepare quotations, and convert opportunities into customer orders.
- Create and manage sales orders while ensuring accuracy throughout fulfillment, shipping, and invoicing.
- Purchase backordered products and coordinate with suppliers to maintain on-time delivery commitments.
- Review and calculate international purchases, including tariffs, duties, freight, and landed costs.
- Coordinate secondary processing requirements and monitor order progress through completion.
- Process receiving documentation and distribute invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate deliveries with warehouse and logistics teams to meet customer expectations.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling, upselling, and new product opportunities.
- Convert walk-in and phone inquiries into new customer relationships.
- Monitor customer inventory requirements and proactively forecast demand to minimize shortages and supply disruptions.
- Process EDI transactions and maintain accurate customer account information within ERP systems.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and Sales teams to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.
- Provide warehouse coverage and operational support as business needs require.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support customer satisfaction and branch success.
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Sales, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in account management, inside sales, customer service, or industrial distribution required.
- Fastener industry experience is strongly preferred
, including knowledge of industrial fasteners, customer applications, and supply chain processes. - Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, ISO, and other fastener industry standards is a plus.
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience preparing quotations, processing sales orders, and supporting purchasing activities.
- Familiarity with EDI transactions, ERP systems (P21 experience preferred), and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and technical specifications preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver s license and the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
