Counter Sales Representative
Job Description
The Counter Sales Representative provides front-line support to walk-in and online customers by answering questions, processing orders, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role works closely with the sales department and distribution center team to ensure customer needs are met, inventory is accurately managed, and operational processes run smoothly. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives and handles customer interactions via phone, email, and sales platforms while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
Responsibilities
+ Assist walk-in and online customers by answering questions and providing excellent customer service.
+ Maintain a professional, friendly, and positive attitude when interacting with customers, the sales department, and distribution center team members.
+ Print pick tickets and assign appropriate warehouse inventory locations to support accurate order fulfillment.
+ Respond to customer inquiries and needs through phone calls, emails, and sales platforms regarding products and services.
+ Collect and accurately input customer payment information in the designated systems.
+ Add new customer information, prepare and send quotes, and input orders through sales platforms.
+ Handle customer concerns, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems in a timely and courteous manner.
+ Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
+ Demonstrate an understanding of quality policies and follow established procedures to support quality objectives.
+ Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment at the counter and in shared areas.
+ Make recommendations and provide feedback to leadership to improve operational excellence and efficiency.
+ Ensure records are maintained accurately and reports are completed and submitted on time.
+ Follow all safety procedures as detailed in standard operating procedures, local instructions, and guidance from supervision.
+ Support additional responsibilities and continuous improvement projects as assigned by the leadership team.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1+ years of experience working in a counter sales role.
+ Proven customer service skills with a strong customer service-oriented mindset.
+ Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone and greeting them face to face.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
+ Ability to handle cash and payment information accurately and responsibly.
+ Consistent job tenure with at least 1+ year in each previous role.
+ Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a good attitude and professional demeanor.
+ Friendly, positive, and composed when dealing with busy periods and customer issues.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for phone, email, and in-person interactions.
+ Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

+ Experience in sales or counter sales environments supporting walk-in and online customers.
+ Familiarity with using sales platforms to input orders, send quotes, and manage customer information.
+ Ability to contribute ideas and feedback to improve processes and operational efficiency.

+ Demonstrated reliability and commitment to meeting work schedule and customer needs.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite role working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is customer-facing at a distribution center counter and involves frequent interaction with walk-in customers, phone calls, emails, and use of sales platforms and Microsoft Office tools. Team members are expected to assist any customer who arrives near closing time and may occasionally extend their day, for example staying until approximately 4:45 p.m. to complete service.
During the peak season from April through September, the role includes working every other Saturday for a 4-hour shift. The work environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with adherence to established safety procedures and company policies. The culture supports operational excellence, collaboration with the sales and distribution center teams, and offers opportunities for growth as the team continues to expand.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $45760.00/yr.
