Machine Tool Repair Technician – $5,000 Sign On Bonus

Shift: 2nd & 3rd Shift – $38.52/hour + 6% Shift Premium

Job

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment that perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components.
• Repair equipment such as Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis (grinders), Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, DMG and other machine shop tools.
• Maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings, and other controllers on machine tools.
• Read and understand machine tool prints, work with tight tolerances, and perform detailed level and alignment tasks.
• Apply leveling, alignment of machines, shaft alignment, gearing, welding, lubrication, pipe fitting, and tube bending principles.
• Use basic electrical skills and handle standard tools to complete repair jobs.
• Work independently and as part of a team, showing self‑motivation and a willingness to work overtime to support production demands.

Basic Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or equivalent extensive experience in mechanical repair of machine tools and related equipment.

Top Candidate Will Also Have:

• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance practices and technology.
• Metal fabrication skills.
• Familiarity with ball screw repair, precision spindle repair, and precision laser alignments on machine tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, medium to heavy duty assembly and technical environment.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and engage in repetitive hand movements using various tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Summary Pay Range: $38.52 - $49.03 per hour
