General Maintenance Technician II

You’ll play an essential role in maintaining buildings and facility systems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and ensuring equipment and system reliability in a dynamic industrial or commercial environment.

This position requires a hands‑on technician with an ability to work safely around 480V 3‑phase electrical circuits and experience supporting a broad array of infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on:
  • Industrial systems such as conveyor belts, R.O. systems, HVAC units, pumps, and motors.
  • Facility systems include lighting, plumbing, roofing, and ventilation.
  • Equipment such as forklifts, dock locks, cranes, hoists, industrial batteries, and exhaust fans.
  • Routine maintenance of facility infrastructure such as flooring, doors, walls, office furniture, cabinets, and shelving.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, hoists, and cranes safely during maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance and repair work in the CMMS system.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance system performance and optimize maintenance effectiveness.
  • Respond to service requests, collaborate with team members, and provide feedback to ensure compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform tasks while adhering to safety protocols, including hazard analyses, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of PPE.
  • Assist specialized technicians with facility‑related repair tasks as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in an industrial/commercial environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to safely work in aerial/scissor lifts at heights of up to 30 feet.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing:
  • Industrial and commercial lighting systems and controls.
  • 480V 3‑phase electrical components safely.
  • Mechanical systems such as HVAC, conveyors, and R.O. systems to OEM standards.
  • Pumps, motors, valves, cranes, hoists, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and steam components (up to 100 psi).
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing repairs and forklift/aerial lift operation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for inputting and managing maintenance data.
Additional Requirements
  • Pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.
  • Valid Driver’s License (if required by site).
  • U.S. Citizenship required (this position does not offer sponsorship).
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently climb ladders and navigate stairs; kneel, bend, squat, stretch, and move repetitively throughout shifts.
  • Extensive walking throughout the facility during shifts.
  • Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements, including the use of diagnostic tools and utility knives.
  • Differentiate between color‑coded wiring and interact professionally with clients under periods of stress.
  • Note:

    Steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE are required.
