Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Full‑time, hourly position.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Job OverviewThe Field Service Technician in the Compression Systems and Services Division installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains rotary screw, reciprocating, Centac, and ECC air compressors, along with other compressed‑air components. The role involves using precision measuring tools, consulting operation manuals, and providing technical assistance during pre‑commissioning, start‑ups, installations, and repairs.
Responsibilities- Conduct preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed‑air equipment and address customer concerns.
- Coordinate with the Service Coordinator to order and gather necessary parts and supplies for installations and repairs.
- Assist and train apprentices and field service technicians.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with customers and team members.
- Explain how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions—such as preventative maintenance, diagnostics, audits and leak detection—benefit customer operations.
- Provide technical assistance during equipment pre‑commissioning, start‑ups, installations, and system repairs.
- Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 5 years).
- Willingness to be on‑call (except first 90 days) with 24/7 availability during on‑call weeks.
- Physical ability to lift, kneel, stoop and walk regularly; comply with safety policies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
- Install advanced network systems (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
- Perform basic vibration and air‑quality troubleshooting.
- Operate Microsoft Office and handheld computing devices effectively.
- Maintain cost‑efficient business travel practices.
- Experience in industrial air‑compressor maintenance.
- EPA certification.
- Veteran or active‑duty military status encouraged.
- Daily travel within a 3‑hour radius of the service area.
- Company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
