Maintenance Technician
In this role, you will have the responsibility to perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on machines and equipment in the machine shop. A primary focus will be on servicing the chip and coolant handling systems. You will also assist Machine Repairmen with various tasks that require two persons. This position involves autonomously performing minor mechanical repairs and processing duties such as unplugging sluices, replacing way wipers, piping, and eliminating air, coolant, and hydraulic leaks.
Responsibilities- Work around high voltage electrical systems, up to 480 V.
- Perform pump maintenance and repairs.
- Manage auto lubrication systems.
- Handle hoses and perform lubrication and grease preventive maintenance.
- Assist level 6 technicians as needed.
- Maintain boilers.
- Experience in mechanical, preventive maintenance, and conveyor maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and repair of gearboxes.
- Familiarity with pumps, HVAC, troubleshooting, fluid systems, installation, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic welding and cutting skills, lubrication principles, and pipe fitting.
- Experience with preventive maintenance in an industrial environment on CNC machine tools, conveyors, robots, and/or coolant systems.
- Basic electrical and print reading skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of basic hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and welding skills.

Work EnvironmentWork in a climate-controlled, very clean manufacturing facility within a machine shop production environment. Expect to work off-shift hours, with available shifts being the 2nd Shift (3:30 PM - 11:30 PM) and the 3rd Shift (11:30 PM - 7:30 AM). Initial training will occur during the day shift, requiring flexibility for shift assignments post-training.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
