Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Overview

Prestige Fleet Services provides on‑site maintenance for Class 6‑8 trucks and trailers, using mobile repair technicians who work at your location. We focus on efficient, quality repair and clearance of administrative tasks.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, such as brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after‑treatment systems, lift‑gates, tires, etc.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair or replace vehicle or trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company‑issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in a timely fashion.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE

• Minimum of 3‑5 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
• Communication skills.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Self‑motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to use a computer or tablet for electronic processing of work orders, including adding labor hours and updating work order statuses.
• Two years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Two years of experience in truck or trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.

• Working under extreme weather conditions.
• Extreme heat, cold, or humidity.

Salary information: $29 – $36/hr. – pay is commensurate with experience.
