Position Description

Immediately hiring a permanent full‑time Warehouse Material Handler to support our facility at Ryder in Lafayette, Indiana.

  • $18.00 an hour
  • Products handled: frozen and perishable foods
  • Equipment: ability to learn/operate powered industrial equipment, such as stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Valid forklift operator’s license certified
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Team player in a diverse work environment
  • Professional relationships across all levels of organization
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Must be punctual with a good attendance record
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
  • Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tee induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
  • Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing system during core shift hours of production
  • Perform other duties as assigned
