Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections

Position Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Full-Time
Accountant to support daily accounting operations for First Pioneers Federal Credit Union based out of our main branch in Lafayette
. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, balancing general ledger and subsidiary accounts, reconciling cash accounts, and preparing accounting reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions efficiently.

• Prepare, process, and file all accounts payable; research and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and post daily and monthly general ledger transactions, including investment activity
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare summary journal vouchers and verify accuracy and proper authorization
• Maintain and reconcile subsidiary records for accrued investment income
• Post investment interest and related transactions
• Monitor and review daily cash balances
• Research and resolve open items, cash imbalances, and variances
• Maintain prepaid expenses and fixed assets, including depreciation schedules
• Prepare intercompany elimination entries
• Process ACH and NSF exceptions on a daily basis
• Reconcile bank statements and related accounts
• Assist with preparing accounting reports as requested
