Now hiring Senior Accountant – Direct Hire
Location: Lafayette, LA
Salary: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
Schedule:1st Shift
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA certification or CPA-track candidate preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate accounting best practices.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior accountant-level responsibilities.
- Proven expertise in fixed asset accounting, capital asset management, depreciation, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit support.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve complex accounting issues, and drive process improvements.
- Ability to remain stationary and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and other office technology.
- Ability to review financial reports, spreadsheets, and accounting records with a high level of accuracy.
- Occasionally move and transport files, records, or office materials up to 15 pounds.
- Manage all aspects of fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and asset tracking.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Review and classify capital expenditures in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Assist with financial statement preparation, variance analysis, budgeting, and capital expenditure reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and financial data.
- Conduct fixed asset inventory reviews and help maintain effective asset management controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen financial reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
