Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred
• At least five years of payroll-management experience
• Multi-state payroll-processing experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Experience with payroll platforms and ERP integrations
• CMiC experience preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred
• Experience with payroll tax filings and reconciliations
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve complex payroll issues
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Commitment to process improvement and accurate reporting

Job Duties

• Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Oversee payroll tax filings and compliance activities
• Process and monitor garnishments and benefits deductions
• Complete payroll and tax reconciliations
• Reconcile payroll-related general-ledger accounts
• Support month-end closing activities
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Maintain and improve payroll systems and workflows
• Support and enhance ERP integrations
• Develop scalable payroll procedures
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls
• Partner with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations
• Ensure payroll accuracy and timely internal reporting
• Provide payroll guidance, training, and process support to internal teams
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy
