Overview
Shipping Team Lead (Administrative)
Stuller's dedicated Logistics Operations team performs an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from automated and manual stock locations, and sorting and packing orders. The Shipping department safely and accurately packs and ships customer orders, resolves discrepancies, meets customer service standards, and uses sortation equipment and PCs daily to complete tasks efficiently.
The Shipping Team Lead reviews and stays current on all Salesforce cases related to the shipping area, tracks associate errors, and leads training and retraining efforts across logistics. This role communicates findings to leadership, supports daily operations, and serves as reliable coverage in the absence of managers. The Team Lead is also expected to actively develop skills in preparation for future management opportunities.
- Review, track, and analyze Salesforce cases and shipping related errors
- Train and retrain associates using oral and written methods aligned with company and department standards
- Identify root causes of errors and order discrepancies using Salesforce, email, and system data
- Communicate case findings and trends to appropriate manager
- Participate in manager coaching sessions and continuous improvement discussions
- Make fair, consistent decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Assist with associate recordkeeping and administrative tasks as needed
- Serve as backup coverage for managers during absences
- Support smooth day-to-day operations within the shipping team
- Help update and maintain shipping SOPs as processes change
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems
- Basic Microsoft Office skills with a strong focus on Excel
- Understanding of logistics operations and shipping processes
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to change and contribute to a positive team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as business needs require
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to work across all Supply Chain levels
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the department for extended periods
- Ability to lift and handle items up to 50 pounds
