As an Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher
, you will develop and implement lesson plans aligned with established guidelines, fostering effective relationships with students, staff members, and parents. Your role will be to motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a strong educational foundation, tailored to each student's abilities, while adhering to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Standards.
In your instructional role, you will plan and implement a Spanish immersion program aligned with the company's philosophy and objectives outlined in the adopted courses of study. You will design purposeful lesson plans that use effective instructional strategies to maximize time on task and student engagement. Instruction will emphasize meaningful language acquisition through real-world applications and culturally relevant content.
You will review and maintain student records to understand individual abilities and learning needs while ensuring accurate and complete documentation. Your instructional approach will support student achievement using varied learning modalities and differentiated strategies designed specifically for language learners.
Frequent diagnostic assessments will be used to evaluate student progress, identify strengths and areas for growth, and guide instructional decisions. You will generate progress reports as required and refer students with suspected learning challenges to appropriate support personnel.
In addition, you will coordinate culturally relevant class field trips or school events and prepare students for state-required achievement assessments. You are expected to remain current in subject-matter knowledge, learning theory, and best practices in language instruction. You will also contribute to ongoing curriculum review and development, including the selection of instructional materials aligned with ACTFL Standards for language proficiency.
Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to LearningYou will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and aligns with the maturity and interests of your students. Maintaining a positive rapport with students while demonstrating patience and a nurturing approach is essential for their growth. You will ensure that the classroom is clean, safe, and showcases student-generated work. Implementing relevant policies governing student conduct and developing reasonable rules will help maintain order fairly and consistently.
InstructionalPlanning
Your responsibilities will include developing lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and objectives. You will plan individual and group learning activities tailored to meet instructional objectives and student needs. Evidence of class preparation will be provided upon request from supervisory personnel. You will participate in curriculum planning meetings with other staff members and incorporate diagnostic information as required in students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
