JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Instructor
- Paramedic will play a vital role in our educational outreach, working closely with clients to schedule classes, instructing a variety of medical and industry courses, and partnering with LABEMS for student certifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists clients in scheduling and coordinating medical training classes

Instructs a range of medical and industry-specific courses

Collaborates with LABEMS to facilitate student certifications

Develops and maintains current and relevant curriculum and course documents

Oversees inventory of training equipment

Provides support in other divisions as needed

Organizes, develops, or obtains training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual materials

Presents information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures

Evaluates training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, and handouts.

Analyzes training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs for customers

Conducts or arranges ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members to meet industry requirements

Conducts orientation sessions and arranges on-the-job training for new hires

Coordinates off-site courses to include instructors and equipment

Generates reports for management and customers as needed

Will carry/handle equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

National and State certified paramedic. Experience functioning as a paramedic. A minimum of 5 years is preferred

Previous instructional experience or current certifications in MFA, AHA-BLS, and ACLS

HSI, PHTLS, AMLS, and PALS Instructor Certifications is a plus

Ability to travel required

Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively, in written and verbal forms, with employees, customers, and the public

Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theories; utilization of various teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning styles

Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point

Excellent planning, organization and detail skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time

Demonstrated ability to develop technical and conceptual material for adult students

High School Diploma or GED.

Current and valid state driver's license.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers.

Must possess the ability to write simple correspondence or reports.

Must possess the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers.

Must be knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures and safety policies.

INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Orientation to job requirements.
