Lafayette, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Civil/Structural Designer to support engineering and design projects in an office-based environment. This full-time position is ideal for experienced professionals with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D and structural design experience who can collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality project designs and documentation. Occasional site visits may be required.
Essential Duties- Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of project designs
- Perform site surveys, gather field information, and walk down drawings to identify tie points, routing, supports, and related project requirements
- Collaborate with Lead Designers and Engineering teams to complete project deliverables
- Develop design configurations associated with project systems and scope requirements
- Provide efficient, cost-effective technical input during design development
- Prepare detailed design drawings in accordance with engineering requirements and project standards
- Maintain and organize project Job Data Books and related design documentation
- Review drawings for completeness, quality, and compliance with applicable standards
- Ensure drawings are properly checked and back checked for accuracy
- Prepare and coordinate final drawing plots and project deliverables for transmittal
- Maintain awareness of project schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Assist with project audits and quality reviews as required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5–20 years of relevant Civil/Structural design experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading and plan/profile development
- Experience with AutoCAD Advance Steel
- Field walk-down and site survey experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and solution‑focused
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Associate degree in CAD or related field
- Previous Oil & Gas industry experience
- Additional Advance Steel software experience
- Primarily office/sedentary work environment
- Ability to conduct occasional field/site visits
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
