Role Description

The Civil Engineer role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Lafayette, LA. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for developing and reviewing civil engineering designs, preparing plans and technical drawings, and coordinating with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure design accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Daily responsibilities include performing site assessments, supporting planning and permitting activities, analyzing stormwater management needs, and preparing calculations and reports to support project approvals.

The role also involves monitoring project progress, assisting with construction oversight, addressing technical issues that arise in the field, and communicating project updates to internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications
  • Civil engineering design skills, including experience with Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering fundamentals.
  • Professional civil engineering practice skills, including work as Civil Engineers and application of industry standards and best practices.
  • Planning-related skills, including project Planning, site layout considerations, and coordination with permitting authorities.
  • Stormwater Management skills, including analysis, design of drainage systems, and compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; professional engineering (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.
  • Proficiency with relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar tools).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and public agencies.
  • Ability to work on‑site, manage multiple projects or tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
