Professional Land Surveyor; PLS

R. J. Fuselier & Associates, L.L.C. (RJF&A) is seeking a motivated Professional Land Surveyor licensed in the State of Louisiana—or a qualified candidate who is close to obtaining Louisiana licensure to support our growing surveying and mapping operations.

This position offers an opportunity to take an active role in a well-established and expanding professional surveying firm. The successful candidate will oversee survey projects, review and certify professional deliverables, provide technical guidance to field and office personnel, and help ensure that projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Louisiana laws and professional standards.

• Active Louisiana Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to obtain Louisiana licensure within approximately one year
• One to three years of experience working as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor preferred
• Candidates who have completed, or are nearing completion of, the experience and examination requirements for Louisiana licensure will also be considered
• Progressive professional experience in land surveying, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, construction, and related surveys
• Strong understanding of boundary analysis and the principles governing the retracement and establishment of property boundaries
• Proficiency in reviewing and preparing plats, legal descriptions, deeds, title commitments, survey reports, and other professional deliverables
• Familiarity with Louisiana surveying laws, standards of practice, administrative requirements, and recordation procedures
• Experience reviewing field data and survey calculations for accuracy and completeness
• Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and meet project deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, field crews, project managers, office personnel, contractors, and other professionals
• Sound professional judgment and attention to detail
• Proficiency with survey data-processing and drafting software;
  AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

• One to three years of experience signing and sealing professional survey deliverables in Louisiana
• Experience managing survey projects from initial scope through final delivery
• Experience supervising field crews or mentoring junior surveying personnel
• Experience developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and fee proposals
• Familiarity with LiDAR, UAS/drone data collection, laser scanning, hydrographic surveying, or other advanced geospatial workflows
• Experience with commercial, industrial, energy, utility, pipeline, coastal, or large-scale construction projects
• Existing client relationships or experience assisting with business development
• Professional licensure, or the ability to obtain licensure, in additional states
