Position Overview
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting and control functions of PHI Americas and reports operational results. Responsible for guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Establishes, monitors and enforces financial controls. Conducts and oversees audits. Assists in budget preparation by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans. Subject‑matter expert for Ramco (ERP) and One Stream (Consolidations and Reporting).
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Responsible for all aspects of the Month End close process.
- Leads the Month End Close process, and responsible for timely closing and accuracy of the financials.
- Responsible for the financial reporting of the accounting operations.
- Formulates and maintains the accounting policies, plans and practices.
- Ensures that all financial data is accurate and prepared in compliance with internal and external standards and accepted accounting principles.
- Ensures financial integrity of all general ledger accounts.
- Maintains an appropriate internal control environment.
- Identifies and implements opportunities for improvement with peers and management.
- Prepares and presents reports and findings to top management and directors.
- Develops and implements financial controls and reports for PHI to support communication with non‑management groups such as shareholders, creditors, regulatory agencies, and tax authorities.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting for quarterly and year‑end audit procedures, both internal and external, and roll‑up into the corporation's audited financial statements.
- Maintains management accounting processes to identify, measure, accumulate, analyze, prepare, interpret, and communicate information used by management to plan, evaluate, and control within PHI Americas to assure appropriate use of and accounting for its resources and business.
- Keeps abreast of financial reporting principles, regulatory reporting requirements and other accounting industry developments that have a financial impact on the operating results of the organization, ensuring timely and accurate implementation and reporting, identifying issues and developing solutions.
- Develops, implements, monitors and ensures proper internal controls and internal policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and safeguarding of assets.
- Assures protection of company business assets through internal control and internal auditing.
- Subject‑matter expert for implementation and optimization of financial systems, i.e., Ramco, One Stream, and Workday (HCM).
- Responsible for the oversight of accounting policies, practices and procedures.
- Coordinates budgets and forecasts – review and preparation of annual business plan and quarterly updates.
- Prepares various financial analyses as directed by management.
- Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required.
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Deep knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Experience partnering with operations management at multiple levels.
- Proficiency in finance and accounting systems (e.g. ERP, Hyperion, One Stream, Workday) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in business administration, finance and accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years in management roles.
