Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day and our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services; demonstrating compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback; seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, engaging team dynamic; travel to stores in the market as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS policies to ensure patient safety, controlled‑substance dispensing and record‑keeping, and protect patient privacy and security.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary off‑site clinic staffing) where allowable by law and supported by training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines.
- Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer vaccination questions to the on‑duty pharmacist.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document as required.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing practice of pharmacy, including but not limited to age, education, licensure/certification.

- If the state board of pharmacy does not set a minimum age requirement, be at least 16 years of age.
- If the state board of pharmacy does not set a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or equivalency program.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription info and label accuracy.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people friendly, notice patient reactions, respond appropriately.
- Communication

use and understand verbal and written communication; active listening. - Mathematical Reasoning: solve problems using math, e.g., determining total tablets, day’s supply, full bottle counts.
- Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
- Physical Demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, use fingers, repetitive typing, maintain visual acuity; details of various physical tasks listed.
