This is an on-site role located in Lafayette, LA for a Direct Support Professional. The Direct Support Professional will assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities, fostering independence and promoting a supportive and safe environment. Responsibilities include providing emotional support, assisting with personal care, implementing training programs, and ensuring individuals’ well-being. The role may also involve collaboration with families and other professionals to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Qualifications- Understanding of Human Services and experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and effective Communication abilities
- Capability to support and participate in Training programs to assist individuals in skill development
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a commitment to promoting dignity and respect for individuals
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or related fields are a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
