The primary responsibilities of the Human Resources Business Partner (LA) include aligning HR initiatives with business objectives while supporting organizational needs. The role encompasses talent management, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for building effective relationships and fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and professional growth.
Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborates with fellow HR Business Partners to ensure consistency in practice and to support alignment of employees with overall business objectives.
- Aligns employees with business goals by partnering with leaders to develop strategies that drive organizational effectiveness.
- Enhances employee performance by evaluating performance reviews and job descriptions, and by collaborating with the compensation team to recommend increases that reflect both individual contributions and market competitiveness.
- Supports employee development through coaching, identifying learning opportunities, and recommending career development strategies.
- Elevates recruitment efforts by managing full‑cycle recruitment for all exempt and non‑exempt positions, including interviewing, offer letters, onboarding, and conducting reference checks.
- Supports orientation and onboarding processes to ensure new employees are effectively integrated into the organization.
- Provides HR solutions to resolve personnel grievances, including managing employee relations, conducting investigations, counseling, coaching, and leading exit interviews.
- Advises and administers terminations and responds to all unemployment claims in a timely and compliant manner.
- Augments career development by partnering with managers and employees to identify growth paths and succession planning opportunities.
- Fosters positive employee relations by cultivating a respectful, productive, and engaging workplace environment.
- Reinforces company policies and practices by developing and administering HR policies and procedures aligned with business needs and legal requirements.
- Facilitates training sessions on topics such as compliance, leadership development, and workplace best practices. Works collaboratively with Training and Development.
- Coordinates and facilitates employee events to promote engagement and a positive workplace culture.
- Maintains in‑depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day‑to‑day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or above preferred or a combination of education and experience.
- Degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in resolving employee relations issues.
- Knowledgeable in various human resources disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
