Temp Experts is seeking experienced CNC Maintenance Technicians to join a growing industrial maintenance team in Lafayette, IN. We are hiring for both CNC Machine Repair Technician II and Lead CNC Maintenance Technician positions on our client's 2nd shift maintenance team.

These positions play a critical role in maintaining production equipment, maximizing uptime, and ensuring reliable facility operations.
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Hours may vary based on business needs.)
Responsibilities CNC Machine Repair Technician II- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and industrial production equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Inspect equipment for potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Operate diagnostic equipment, testing devices, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements and proper PPE usage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
In addition to performing advanced maintenance responsibilities, the Lead Technician will:
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of maintenance technicians.
- Coordinate daily maintenance priorities and work assignments with site leadership.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for CNC controls and industrial electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and support robotic systems, multi-axis grinders, hydraulic systems, pumps, HVAC equipment, central coolant systems, and related industrial equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
- Conduct safety audits and reinforce compliance with company safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with outside contractors and vendors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and equipment reliability projects.
- Maintain maintenance records, communicate project status, and support operational reporting.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of industrial, manufacturing, or CNC maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of industrial production, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience strongly .
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with CNC controls, robotics, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or similar CNC control platforms .
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Technical degree, trade school education, or bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
- U.S. work authorization required.
- Ability to obtain required facility security credentials.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternate schedules as business needs require.
- Ability to safely wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as required.
